He is survived by: his wife Gail Stokes of Lake Murvaul; his children, Shelli Colwell (Todd) of Tennessee, Alan Stokes (Marilyn) of Round Rock, Leslie Smetzer (John) of San Antonio and Jessica Fields (Jeremy) of Carthage; his siblings, Ralph Stokes (Ara Jane) of Austin and Joy Chamness of Huntsville; and his grandchildren, Madison Fields, Blake Fields, Jared Stokes, Meagan Stokes, Matthew and Joshua Smetzer. He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
