He is survived by: his wife Lan Kennedy; his stepchildren, Kim Kennedy and Wendy Nguyen Phan; his stepgrandchildren, Henry, Kristina and Bryan; his son Richard J. Carroll; his daughter-in-law Aimee Carroll; his granddaughters, Nicole and Renee; and his siblings, Joseph of Lewisberry, Dennis of Chevy Chase, Eugene of New York City, Timothy of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Theresa Carroll Schweser of Arlington, Virginia and Helene Carroll Pascale of Barre, Massachusets. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
