He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip W. Sargent and Maxine Sargent (Bish); his son Nathan Joshua Sargent; and his siblings-in-law, Gordon and Mildred Longest.

He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Sargent; his children, Nicolle Hostetler (Ray) and Corey Michael Sargent (Brandi); and his sisters, Mary Bailey (Erwin) and Dorothy Halloway. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, sisters- and brothers-in-law.
