He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Samford Welch; his siblings, Clyde Welch (MeloDee) of Dallas and Cindy (Mark) of Wylie; his stepsiblings, Teresa (Billy Hatfield) and Jackie (Lori Davis); his daughters, Emily Purvis (Thomas) of Royse City and Tammy Clark (Cary) of Albany; his grandchildren, Conner, Paisley, Cache Clark, Kamrey (Joseph Doles), Alyson Purvis, Presley and Bryce Purvis; and also Justin Welch of Richardson. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Directors (1600 S Garland Ave, Garland, TX 75040). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Williams Memorial Chapel (1600 S Garland Ave, Garland, TX 75040). A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Restland Memorial Park (2107 TX-149, Carthage, TX 75633).
