He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Alaniz and Margarita Alaniz; and his siblings, Frank, Johnny, Emilio, Alfred, Jessie, Joe, Ruben, Ramon Alaniz, Dora Alaniz, Mary Sanchez, Sarah and Sylvia Alaniz.

He is survived by: his wife Debbie Alaniz; his children, Ricky (Sarah Alaniz) and Chelsie (John Benavides); his grandchildren, Blaydn, Rylan, Easton Alaniz, Arianna and Cora Benavides; and his siblings, Carmel Gonzalez, Janie Alaniz, Adella Samaripa, Anita Contreras and Maggie McCullough.
