He was predeceased by: his parents, John Vernon Buss and Vera Lee Buss; his wife Robyn Buss; and his daughter Shanti Buss. He is survived by: his daughters, Wendy Buss (Dan) and Summer Portwood (Eric); his sister Kathy Karriker (Ken); his nephew Jason Karriker; and his grandchildren, Aeris Buss, Bodhi, Ziggy and Nalu.

A reception was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 10115 Termini-San Luis Pass Rd, Galveston, TX 77554.
