He was predeceased by: his parents, F. M. Prendergast (Ducky) and Ruth Newcombe Prendergast; his stepmother Harriett Mullen Prendergast; and his brothers, Robert Prendergast of San Diego, CA and Donald Prendergast of Lady Lake, FL..
He is survived by: his daughter Kari P. Long (Nick); his grandsons, R. Sterling Long and R. Walker Long of League City; his brother Charles Prendergast (Sylvia) of Friendswood; his close friend Dinah Carroll of Spring, TX; his niece Alice P. Lowrey of Pearland; his sister-in-law Carol Prendergast; his niece Lynn P. LaChapelle (Mark Robinson) of Escondido, CA; his nephew Robert Prendergast Jr. (Sally) of Encinitas, CA; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Sophie Prendergast Whicheloe, Olivia Prendergast, Ian, Ross and Jacqueline Lowrey.
