We are sad to announce that on December 31, 2024, at the age of 90, Marjorie Schroeder Dersheimer (Galveston, Texas) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband George F. Dersheimer; her parents, Leona Hegmann Schroeder and Edward W. Schroeder; her sister Joan Schroeder Miller (Pete Miller); her nephew Steven Miller; and her in-laws, Theron George Dersheimer and Katherine Ann Dersheimer.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Scott Dersheimer, Katherine Ann Dersheimer VanDewalli (John P. VanDewalli) of Galveston and David Scott Dersheimer (Charity Dersheimer) of Kentucky; her grandchildren, Heather Dersheimer of Kentucky, Jessica Dersheimer Holloway (Matt Holloway) of Kentucky, Haley Dersheimer Simon (Taylor Simon) of Kentucky and Ryan P. VanDewalli of Galveston; her great grandchildren, Lennon of Kentucky, Laurel Cupples of Kentucky, Leona of Kentucky, Matilda (Mattie) of Kentucky and Emily Holloway of Kentucky; her nephew Michael Miller of Galveston; and her niece Nancy Miller Erickson (Jonathan Erikson) of Dallas.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1302 Broadway Avenue J, Galveston, TX 77550). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. In retirement, she formed a book club that was active for many years until the pandemic; as well as co-founded a women's investment club, The Galvestors.
