She was predeceased by: her parents, Pedro Esquivel and Hortensia Guzman Esquivel; her husband Enrique Ruelas, Sr.; her son Enrique "Henry" Ruelas, Jr.; her grandson Robert Ruelas; and her siblings, Frances Juarez, Samuel Esquivel, Hermelindo Esquivel and Raymundo Esquivel.
She is survived by: her children, Sylvia Hernandez (Trinidad, Sr.), Cynthia Ruelas and Ricky Ruelas of Galveston; her siblings, Nela Cantu of Nuevo Laredo, Rosa Arnero (Juan), Norma Recio and Pedro Esquivel (Gloria) of Corpus Christi, Texas; her grandchildren, Henry Ruelas, III, Samantha Ruelas, Jennifer Ruelas, Trinidad Hernandez, Jr. and Jessica Sanchez; and her great grandchildren, Ali, Robert and Audrey.
