She is survived by: her stepchildren, Alfred Wade, Elizabeth Wade and Johnnie Wade; her sister Joyce E. Dennis; her aunts, Lillie Alexander and Rosa Houston; her nieces and nephews, Mark Johnson Sr., Joel Dennis II, Dedrick Dennis, Khalil Shabazz, Tootie Lewis, Shamell D. Roberson, Chandra Dennis Martin, Mary Tenison and Martha Kervin; her cousins, Clara Kimbrough, Sharon Berard and Sheila Taylor; her sisters-in-law, Maggie Shabazz and Eula Rice; and her close friends, Vanell Davis, Norman Singer, Tommie Miguel and Charlie Baldwin. She is also survived by 8 great nephews, 9 great nieces, 7 great great nephews, and 4 great great nieces.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church (3602 Sealy Ave, Galveston, TX 77550). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lakeview Cemetery (3001 57th St, Galveston, TX 77551).
