He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Gober Newton and Helen Virginia Newton; and his granddaughter Alexia Rayne Flory. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Newton of Crystal Beach; his children, J. W. Newton of Anchorage, Dawn Ford Flory (Greg) of Gardnerville and Jared Newton (Katie) of Minneapolis, Minnesota.; and his grandchildren, Aden Flory, Camden Flory, James Newton and Caroline Newton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital for Children.
