He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Jinkins and Virginia Jinkins (Redd); and his son James Beathard. He is survived by: his wife Janet Jinkins; his children, Tony Jinkins (Elaine) of Chapel Hill, Jason Jinkins of Gallatin, Christy Beathard of Rusk and Terry Beathard (Lydia) of Cushing; his sisters, Maye Vaughan (Joe Ben) of Huntington, Faye Scarborough (Van) of Lufkin and Pearlene Gary (Morris) of Tyler; and his sister-in-law Lily Jenkins of Houston. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
