With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joye Johnston of Gainesville, Texas, born in Decatur, Texas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Joye left this world on September 14, 2024 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Though Joye may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joye touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, E. B. Fortenberry and Opal Virginia Fortenberry; and her husband Dub Johnston. She is survived by: her daughters, J'Lynne Johnston of Gainesville, TX and Julie (Ricky Greene) of Sadler, TX; her granddaughters, Jessica (Matt Nichols) of Sadler, TX and Jordan Greene of Nevada, TX; her great grandchildren, Travis and Ellie Nichols; her pet Willie; and her sister Gina Morris of Bedford, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
