He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert W. Strempel and Hulda Grimm Strempel; his wife Gail Coker Strempel; his sister Dorothy Schuenemann (Clarence); his nephew Dennis Schuenemann; and his brother-in-law Alvin F. Coker, Jr. (Jean).
He is survived by: his daughter Susan Davis (Michael); his grandson Charles Thweatt (Nati); his great grandchildren, Ariana, Alyssa and Ashlyn Thweatt; his sister Doris Rose (Jesse); and his siblings-in-law, Betty Roberts (Chuck) and Gerald Coker, Sr.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
