He was predeceased by: his parents, David Bennet and Nellie Catherine Bush Cherry; and his siblings, Harold Eugene Cherry, Jasper Bennet Cherry, Della, Minnie, Hazel, Ruth, Barbara and Evelyn.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Cherry of Fruitvale; his stepchildren, Barry Harbison and Lynna Marie Whitaker; his sisters, Patricia Warner, Wanda Salazar and Sharon Deavers; and his grandchildren, Brittany Whitaker, Carl Whitaker, Trina Hill, Kayla Starnes, Taylor Harbison and Lane Harbison. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
