With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jay Vance Govan Sr. of Frisco, Texas, born in Lincoln, Texas, who passed away on February 17, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Norman Govan and Mattie Elnora Simpson Govan; and his spouse Alvena Ussery. He is survived by: his sons, Jay, Jr. (Terri) of San Antonio, TX and Dwight Govan of Frisco, TX; his grandsons, Jay Govan III (Jessica), Jordan Scott, Brandon Govan and Corey Govan; and his great grandchildren, Mya, Cora and Grant Govan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Northeast Campus True Vision Church (2826 Ackerman Rd, San Antonio, TX 78219). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the MeadowLawn Memorial Park (5611 E Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78220).
