He was predeceased by: his mother Oliva Tena; and his brother Adrian Medina. He is survived by: his parent Ismael Medina; his wife Alma; his stepchildren, Rosemary Canelo (Joel Garcia) of Corpus Christi and Steven Canelo (Silvia Salazar) of Corpus Christi; his son Juan Jose Canelo (Dolores Rodriguez) of Orange Grove; and his siblings, Bertin Medina, Silvino Medina, Jaime Medina, Yolanda Hernandez, Maria Galvan, Martin Medina and Juan Medina. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 4 great- grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
