He was predeceased by: his parents, Elder Sylvester Gowens and Minnie Gowens; and his sister Gwendolyn Gentry. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Gowens of Friona; his sons, David Gowens (LaDelle) of Dripping Springs, TX, Michael Gowens (Lori) of Calabash, NC and Daniel Gowens (Lisa); and his grandchildren, Amber Ferrell, Bradley Gowens, Ashley Penn, Jared Gowens, Bethany Gowins, Hayden Gowens, Zachariah Gowens, Hannah Gowens, Jaycie Gowens, Kaylie Gowens, Evelyn Gowens, Briana Simek, Elivia Gowens and Alexandra Gowens. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
