She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles L. McKim and Verna Moon McKim; her husband Marvin Elam; her siblings, Charles L. McKim and Peggy Claypool; and her granddaughter Mandy Gottschalk.
She is survived by: her brother David McKim of Florida; her daughter Melanie Grote (Austin Grote) of Pearland; her grandson Mason Grote; her close friend Pat Smajstrla; and her stepchildren, Marsha Elam, Machel Jordan, Marvin Elam III (Rhonda Elam), Renee Newsom (John Newsom) and Michael Elam (Laura Elam).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home (311 N Friendswood Dr, Friendswood, TX 77546). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
