He was predeceased by: his wife Hema; and his daughter Damayanthi. He is survived by: his sons, Thusitha Silva (Kamanie Balachandra), Dinendra Silva, Hemantha Silva (Judy Silva) and Thushara Silva (Rachna Ponia); and his grandchildren, Chandika, Shanika, Jordan and Trinity.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to their charity of choice.
