She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Leassear and Willie Mae Leassear; her sister Emmer Earl Busby; her children, Virginia Houston and Craig Anthony Leassear; and her granddaughter Chelsea Leassear (John Stehlin).
She is survived by: her children, Deborah Leassear, Stephanie Green, Tracy Crear, Mary McNeil and Broderick Houston; her sons-in-law, Brett McNeil and Stephen Crear; her siblings, Evelyn Smith, Frankie Scott, Leonard, Jethro and Ivory Leassear; and her sisters-in-law, Betty, Glenda and Mary Leassear. She is also survived by 21 Grandchildren; 20 Great-Grandchildren; 18 Nieces; 9 nephews and a host of cousins.
