He was predeceased by: his parents, Catarino Garza and Jesusa Garza; his son Roel Garza; and his grandson Richard Alaniz Jr.. He is survived by: his spouse Raquel G. Garza of Freer, Texas; his children, Linda Villarreal III (Ignacio) of Freer, Texas, Angie Alaniz (Richard) of Orange Grove, Texas, Ruben Garza Jr. (Eden) of Laredo, Texas, Ana Garza (Oscar) of Freer, Texas and Sally Schroeder (Bryan) of Orange Grove, Texas; his sister Adela Valdez (Jesus) of Alice, Texas; and his daughter Nori Cavazos (George) of Kingsville, Texas. He is also survived by husband father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle who will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
