It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stanley Birkelbach of Fredericksburg, Texas, who passed away on December 5, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Birkelbach and Dorthea Althaus Birkelbach (Althaus); his stepfather Leo Sultemeier; his former wife Eutha Faye Birkelbach (Weeaks); and his siblings, Jacquelyn Schmidt (Elgin), Gloria LeComte Uhl (Harold LeComte) and Leo Sultemeier, Jr. (Earline).
He is survived by: his sons, Randal Birkelbach (Karen) and Ronald Birkelbach; his stepson Kenneth Molberg (Linda); and his grandchildren, Kevin Birkelbach, Eric Birkelbach, Christian Birkelbach, Collin Molberg (Carolyn), Cameron Molberg, Travis Molberg and Rachel Chovanetz (Koda). He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Schaetter Funeral Home (301 E San Antonio St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. They spent the COVID years apart due to Maxine's declining health, and Stanley avoided catching the virus until long after the worst of the pandemic was over.
