He was predeceased by: his parents, Will Harvey (Billy) and Oda Wahl; and his sister Amanda Jung. He is survived by: his son Jeff (Martha Wahl) of Helotes; his grandchildren, Manuel, Heather Lopez, Teddy and Lila Lopez; his children, Nikolas and Crissy Wahl of Leander; and his granddaughters, Grace and Olivia Wahl.
Memorial contributions can be made in Russell's memory to the Bethany Preschool building fund, Fredericksburg Fire Dept., Methodist Hospital Hospice, or to the charity of choice.
