He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard C. Roland Sr. and Joyce Gregory Brooks; and his stepmother Doria Lamon. He is survived by: his wife Martha J. Roland; his daughter Cheri Broussard; his stepdaughter Brenda Perez; and his siblings, Susan Francis, Greg Roland, Steve Roland and Larry Roland. He is also survived by two grandchildren; and one step-grandson.
