He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry J. W. Eckert and Linda Petermann Eckert; his son Daryl Ray Eckert; his sister Isabel Eckert Kikta; and his siblings-in-law, Marie, Kermit Ottmers, Raymond Klaehn, Marvin Klaehn, Betty, Henry Hemmeter and Claud Baumbach.
He is survived by: his wife Florence Klaehn Eckert; his son Brian K. Eckert (Mary); his daughter-in-law Rhonda Eckert Simpson of Fredericksburg; his grandchildren, Chance Eckert (Ashleigh) of Seminole, Cullen Eckert (Melissa) of Fredericksburg, Caden Eckert (Hope) of Seminole, Hailey Hoffmann (David) of Clear Lake, TX and Gavin Eckert of College Station; his great grandchildren, Hayes Eckert and Emery Eckert; his sister Marjorie; his brother-in-law Kenneth Otte of Stonewall; his niece Kim Gibbs (Kristin Janik) of Fredericksburg; and his siblings-in-law, Roy Klaehn (Debbie), Margaret Klaehn and Opal Klaehn.
Memorials may be given to Holy Ghost Lutheran Property Fund, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Community Needs Council, or the charity of one's choice.
