He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Behrends and Dora Behrends (Braeutigam). He is survived by: his wife Ellie Mae Behrends of Fredericksburg; his sons, Ricky Behrends (Janice Kirk), Girard (Karen Behrends) and Glenn (Andrea Behrends); his grandchildren, Hunter (Lacey Behrends), Chad (Cari Behrends), Kody Behrends (Cortney) and Jake Lebens; and his great grandchildren, Kayelyn Behrends, Graham Behrends, Collin Behrends, Charly Behrends and Harlee Lebens.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home (301 E San Antonio St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624). A rosary was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (304 W San Antonio St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624).
