She was predeceased by: her parents, John William Hodge, Sr. and Alice Hortense Blasingame Hodge; her siblings, John Hodge, Jr. and Margaret Groves; her daughter Susan Simmons; and her grandson Brian Brock.

She is survived by: her husband Fred M. Simmons; her children, Kay Adkins (Carl) of Mountain View, Arkansas, Greg Simmons (Miriam) of Fort Worth, Texas and Patti Simmons (Karl Brock) of Grand Prairie, Texas; and her grandchildren, Ma'at Crook, Jason Jennette, Isaac Jennette, Janelle Brock, Emily Brock Thorman, Caleb Simmons, Hannah Simmons, Hope Simmons, Lydia Simmons, Luke Simmons, Melissa Adkins Dudding and Tracy Adkins Nicholson. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
