He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Atwood and Betty Lou Atwood; his daughter Anne Elizabeth Atwood; and his stepsister Sherrie Heap. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Atwood of Frankston; his son Richard Brooks Atwood II (Monica); and his grandchildren, Richard "Buck" Brooks Atwood III, William Garrett Atwood, Victoria Elizabeth Atwood, Thomas "Jake" Jackson Atwood and Lindsey Feagins.
