He is survived by: his mother Lizzie Mae Sanders of Franklin; his son Walter David Sanders, Jr. (Kathleen) of Brazoria; his grandchildren, Destiny Whitaker, Corey Whitaker (Elizabeth), Colby Sanders (Katie) and Gracie Sanders; his great grandchildren, Hadley and Haxton; his siblings, Cindy Wymola and Bill Sanders; and his nephews, Aron Wymola and Cody Sanders.
