He was predeceased by: his parents, Tomas Esparza and Hilaria Martinez Esparza Reyna; his stepfather Agapito Reyna; and his mother-in-law Shirley Van Huss. He is survived by: his wife Carol Lynn Esparza of Franklin; his daughter Lesley Esparza Leago (Tommy James) of Conroe; and his stepsons, Jeffrey Brinson (Jennifer), Sergeant David Brinson, Daniel Brinson (Jessica) and Sergeant Matthew Brinson. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
