Myrtle Alexander Obituary
Myrtle Alexander was born March 5th, 1943, to the parents of Theodore Jackson and Marilyn Mack Smith in Fort Worth, Texas. Sister Alexander accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor J.E. Pettie. She retained a faithful membership at Freshly Anointed Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Doctor G.L Durham. She would attend church every Sunday, and in her words “If the good Lord let me see it”, she would be there.
Myrtle aka Little Sister, known by her immediate family attended James E. Guinn Elementary and I.M. Terrel High School in Fort Worth Independent School District. She further continued her education by completing courses at Tarrant County Junior College for Dietary Services for Nursing Homes and Nursing Administration. She had a career in food preparation and distribution at Long Term Care facilities and worked as a Dietary Manager until her retirement.
She met and married R. C Alexander aka Uncle Charles in 1962 until they divorced in 1983. In 1989 she met John Mitchell Jr aka JR and was united in holy matrimony by Pastor J. E. Pettie. Sister Alexander liked to shop, travel, and visit family. She also enjoyed studying the Bible, listening to Gospel music, and making black-eyed peas for new year’s. She found joy in talking with friends and encouraging them from her heart with a smile and laughter that would brighten their day. Her favorite color was lavender, and she looked beautiful in it.
She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, R.C Alexander, Aunt Pearl Nelson aka Maw-maw, her loving sister Alice Faye Rancifer, niece Donna Rancifer, and great-nephews Derrick, David, and Eric.
Myrtle Alexander entered her eternal rest on June 6th, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving son Deaunte (Bubba) Vaughn, husband John Mitchell Jr., nieces Wanda Mack, Tracy Toussaint (Michael), Victoria Rancifer, Danielle Rancifer, nephew David Rancifer, and a host of great-nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
