He is survived by: his wife Myrtis Anne Whiting of Fort Worth, Texas; his children, Elmer Herschel Whiting IV (Monica Nguyen) of Port Neches, Gregory Allen Whiting (Shannon) of Houston, Texas and Christina Marie O'Rear (David) of Grapevine, Texas; his sister Sharon Elaine Huffman of Naperville, Illinois; and his grandchildren, Irene Elizabeth Whiting of Houston and Patrick Thomas O'Rear of Grapevine.
