He is survived by: his wife Joyce Maxine Dunnam; his sons, James Allan Childs, Jr. (Rita) of Ft Stockton, TX., David Glen Childs and Thomas Steele Childs; his stepfather Harold Hicks; his sister Suzie Graham (Gary Graham) of Brady, Texas.; his grandchildren, Lyndsey Childs-Caughron (Jeremiah), Tx Audrie Corral (Adrian), Nathan Childs, Tx Jason Childs, Ft Stockton, Tx Cierra Childs, Wyatt Childs, Harley Childs, Hannah Childs, Tx Riley Wallace and Rhen Chapman; and his great grandchildren, Colton Coates, Trinity Coates of Midland, TX, Kobie Corral and Presley Corral.
