He was predeceased by: his parents, Abundio Sotelo and Dolores Hinojos; and his siblings, Jose Sotelo, Jesus Sotelo, Maria Rodriguez and Fidelia Puente.
He is survived by: his wife Carmen of Fort Stockton, Texas; his sisters, Guadalupe Ybarra, Manuela Sotelo and Celia Jordan; his children, Ramon Sotelo (Graciela) of Fort Stockton, Oscar Sotelo (Adela) of Midland, Texas, Juana Sotelo of Austin, Martina Sotelo of Austin and Flora Taylor of Hutto, Texas; and his grandchildren, Lakeisha Van Buren, Yanira Carrasco, Bobby Sotelo, La Tanya Sotelo, Kimberly Sotelo, Malaina Taylor, Marissa Padilla, Jessica Tamez and Izaia Taylor. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
