He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Wesley and Irene Smith Lafferty; and his sister Francis Johnson. He is survived by: his sister Pauline Johnson (Polly) of Decaturville; his wife Shirley Gabbard Lafferty; his son Clinton Lane Lafferty (Julie) of Jackson, Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Blane, Rebekah and Nora.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in his memory, are requested to Lafferty Cemetery Fund or Mt. Carmel Cemetery Fund.
