He was predeceased by: his parents, Guadalupe Martinez and Bernardo Martinez; his close friend Beatrice Covington; and his siblings, Ramon, Fidel, Ismael, Mingo, Benny Martinez and Manuela Mendoza.
He is survived by: his siblings, Alfredo Martinez and Irma Garcia of Floydada; and his stepchildren, Robert Covington (Vickey), Darlene Torrez, Diane Griggs (Mike), Steve Covington (Kit), Stanley Covington (Jerry), Kenneth Covington, Keith Covington (Rachael), Glenda Harmon and Glenn Vasquez (Kim). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada (329 W California St, Floydada, TX 79235). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church (309 S Wall St, Floydada, TX 79235).
