He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Modesta Rodriguez and Santana Perales; his pet Blue; his wife Maria Escalon; his siblings, Rene Perales, Norma Rhea and Angelita Vargas; his children, Jose Jr. (Rose Peralez), Graciela (Gene Ortiz), Arlinda (Randy Hernandez), Melisa Peralez of Austin, Leticia (David Longoria), Paul (Paris Peralez), Matthew (Samantha Escalon), Patricia (Kevin Smith) and Guadalupe Peralez of Plainview, Texas.; and his close friends, Kelly Railsback, Phillip Gandara, Michael and Janet Kear. He was also cherished by 8 children, 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
