He was predeceased by: his parents, William Elias Helms (Bill) and Annetta Johnson Helms; and his brother W. E. Helms Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Joan Helms; and his children, Bryan (Seritha Steinman), Kenneth (Karla Helms), Paula (Bobby Phillips) and Robert (Michelle Helms). He is also survived by grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his younger brother.
