He was predeceased by: his parents, J. T. Poole and Opal Poole (Davis); his daughter Lesley Carrol Poole; and his siblings, Bobby Poole, Lloyd Poole and Gladys Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Poole; his children, Tracy Poole of Floydada and Debbie Smith of Meosha, Missouri; and his siblings, Raymond Poole (Mary) of Floydada, Jimmy Poole (Jackie) of Damon, Texas, Wanda Strange of Silverton, Joyce Hart of Shallowater and Patsy Chiles of Amarillo.
