He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar L. Barnes and Maude Barnes (Watson); his former wife Flo Skweres; his daughter Cindy Strickland; his wife Frances Miller Barnes; and his siblings, Evelyn Williams, O. L. Jr., Eugene and Bobby Barnes.
He is survived by: his daughter Arleen Nixon of Floydada; his son-in-law Willie Strickland (Kathy); his siblings, Glenda Barrett of Cotton Center and Billy Barnes (Cora) of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Joel Strickland (Tressa), Nathan, Matthew Strickland, Rebecca, Elaine Clark (Wayne), Corey Hayter (Kali) and Christopher Hayter; his great grandchildren, Brittini Lockenour (Troy), Kayla, Emily, Joseph, David, Cora, Will, Jacob, Cindy, Lacy and Riley; his great great grandchildren, Tony and Lani; his adoptive daughter Anne-Marie Ham (Max); and his great grandchildren, Dylan Strickland and Taylor Strickland. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
