He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles R. Griffey and Nellie Griffey (Freeman); and his brothers, Junior Griffey (Charles) and Bud Griffey. He is survived by: his wife Earlene Griffey of Highland Village, TX; his children, Stephen Griffey of Winters, CA and Susan Johnson of Flower Mound, TX.; his daughter-in-law Rebecca Griffey; his granddaughter Alexandra Griffey of Winters, CA; his son-in-law Christopher Johnson; his granddaughter McKenna Johnson of Flower Mound, TX.; his niece Terry Griffey of Baton Rouge, LA; and his nephew Jonathan Henson of Chattanooga, TN..
