It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Porfirio Talamantez Sr. of Floresville, Texas, who passed away on November 9, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Esequiel Talamantez, Sr. and Martina Talamantez,; his siblings, Esequiel Talamantez, Jr., Hermina Talamantez and Anita Arocha; his brothers-in-law, Antonio Griego, Vidal Martinez and Leo Ybarra; his nieces, Melinda Griego and Rose Mary Ybarra; and his nephew Fernando Martinez.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Rodriquez Talamantez; his children, Porfirio Talamantez, Jr. (Tish) of Austin, William Talamantez (Cindia) of Burnet, Justo Talamantez (Arturo) of San Francisco and Mary Olga Talamantez (Alfonso Pena) of Poteet, Texas; his grandchildren, Matthew Talamantez (Acia), John-Michael Talamantez (Bonnie), Marc Talamantez, Crystal Rohlke (Steven), David Rodriguez, Jake Talamantez and Jeremy Talamantez; his great grandchildren, Hudson Talamantez, Adalynn Joyce Talamantez, Christopher Talamantez, Alex Talamantez, Emma Talamantez, Nolan Talamantez, Riggan Mays, Laramie Mays, Hazel Rohlke and Lily Rohlke; his siblings, Johnny Talamantez (Irene) of Floresville, Vidal Talamantez (Gloria) of Somerset, Anicieto (Oralia) of Roscoe, Texas, Magdalena Talamantez of Floresville, Manuelita Griego of Floresville, Janie Martinez of Floresville, Mary Martinez (Telforo) of Spring Branch and Eulalia (John) of San Antonio; and his sister-in-law Leanora Talamantez. He is also survived by numerous nieces nephews, cousins and many friends.
