It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Tom Edward Atkinson (Florence, Texas), born in Bryan, Texas, who passed away on January 5, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Atkinson and Wille Fae Atkinson; his brothers, Ben and Jim Atkinson; and his son Brian.
He is survived by: his wife Billie Jean Atkinson; his child Erin Reeder (Tooter); his children-in-law, JT Atkinson (Sonny) and DeLisa; his grandchildren, Branson Reeder (Branson Case), Mackenzie Atkinson (Mackadoo), Madison Atkinson (Maddie Ann) and Owen Reeder (OW); his sister Julie Collins; his siblings-in-law, Jeff Collins, Pam Atkinson and Debbie Yost; and his niece Audra. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Florence United Methodist Church (300 E Curry St, Florence, TX 76527). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Florence City Cemetery (100 Preslar Ave, Florence, TX 76527).
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Florence United Methodist Church to be forwarded to support the research of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).
