He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thompson and Mazie Thompson Koenig; and his siblings, Billye Faye McAdoo, Roy (Bubba), Donald (Sweetie) and John David.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Floyd; his children, Stacey (Junior Herring), Sandra (Charlie Cobb), Scott (Brenda Thompson) and Steve (Lisa Thompson); his aunts, Vera Newton and Rosalee Menefee; his uncle Dee Menefee; his great grandchildren, Rikki, Brian, Kelly, Zach, Dane, Katie, Josh, Tyler, Tanner, Lil Stayton, Phil, Melanie, Bobby, Shasta, Michael, Ariel, Kevin, Skyler, Lily, Baylee, Jaxon, Wren, Emmy, Anna, Parker, Brice, Saige, Mabel and Millie; and also, Lynda, Jack Bonewald, Gaylen, Carl Tips, Becky, Steve Tripovich, Rhonda Wells, Angel Thompson, Julie, Mike Martin, Rusty and Joyce Young. He is also survived by cousins and second cousins.
