She was predeceased by: her parents, Dee McCrary and Sadie McCrary; and her sister Johnnie Lee Anderson. She is survived by: her spouse Joseph R. Mathis, Sr.; her children, Kathryn (Dana Arnold) of Georgetown, Joe Mathis, Jr. and James Mathis of Pownal, Vermont; and her friend Terry Anderson. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
