He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elmo Mimms and Annie Mae Mimms; his son Brian Mimms; his wife Sue Williams Mimms; his daughter Monica Mimms Campbell; his son-in-law Dan Campbell; his son Nathan Mimms; his daughter-in-law Dalia Mimms; his grandchildren, Emily, Logan, Kaitlyn, Abby, Sofia, Christopher and Emma; and his sister Betty LaSeur (Richard).
