He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick William Moran and Mary Eleanor Walton Moran; his sisters, Margaret (George Halliday) and Colleen Hansen; and his close friend Russell F. Baker.

He is survived by: his wife Ann; his brother-in-law Mike Hansen of Paynesville, MN; his children, Sean Moran, MD (Linda) of Lufkin, TX, Lisa Moran, Mark Moran and Brett Moran, MD (Arlene Betancourt, MD) of Dallas, TX.; his close friends, Don, MaryAnn Parks and Lorna Baker; and his grandchildren, Cole, Elle Moran of Tyler, TX, Kylee, Kenzee Burton of Lufkin, TX, Aidan and Jessica Moran of Dallas, TX.
