He was predeceased by: his parents, IJ Sawyer and Mary Sawyer; his wife Dorothy Mae Lovelace Sawyer of Athens; and his son Steven Andrew Sawyer. He is survived by: his children, Tom (Carolyn Sawyer) of Magnolia and Sandra McLeroy of Bryan; his grandchildren, Lewis (Lyle McLeroy) of Prosper, Richard (Jennifer McLeroy) of Dripping Springs, Jay (Ashley Sawyer) of Caldwell and Julie Wright (Ray Wright) of Houston; his great grandchildren, Dalton McLeroy, Bryson McLeroy, Walker McLeroy, Sawyer McLeroy, Marin McLeroy and Blake Sawyer; and his cousin C. M. Crawford.
