He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife LaVonn; his son Chief Brian Higgs; his grandsons, Stephan, Jr. (Tammy) and Bo Higgs; and also, Sharon Abercrombie and Sandra West. He was also cherished by 3 great-granddaughters.
